Please read these terms carefully before using our website. By continuing to browse or use this site, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below.

About this website

This website is operated by RSPCA Furness & Barrow Branch, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity No. 232247), with its branch office at 106 Church Street, Barrow-in-Furness, LA14 2HJ.

We are a local branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). While we share the RSPCA name and values, we are independently registered and responsible for the content published on this site. The national RSPCA operates separately at rspca.org.uk.

Use of this website

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not use it in any way that breaches applicable local, national, or international law or regulation, or that is fraudulent, harmful, or offensive.

Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, graphics, logos, and page layouts — is owned by or licensed to RSPCA Furness & Barrow Branch or the national RSPCA, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print content from this site for your own personal, non-commercial use only. You must not reproduce, redistribute, or republish any content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

The RSPCA name, logo, and associated marks are registered trademarks of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Nothing on this site grants you any licence to use those marks.

Liability disclaimer

We take reasonable care to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties or representations — express or implied — about its completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RSPCA Furness & Barrow Branch excludes all liability for any loss or damage — including indirect or consequential loss — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or any content on it.

This website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites, and a link does not constitute an endorsement.

Adoption and rehoming

Information on this website about cat adoption, rehoming criteria, and the Perfect Match process is provided for general guidance only. It does not constitute a binding offer or guarantee of rehoming.

All adoptions are subject to a separate adoption agreement signed at the point of rehoming, which sets out the responsibilities of both the adopter and RSPCA Furness & Barrow Branch. Submitting an online application does not create a contractual obligation on either party.

We reserve the right to decline any adoption application at our discretion, in the best interests of the animal concerned.

Donations and payments

Donations made through this website or via our linked payment providers are voluntary charitable gifts to RSPCA Furness & Barrow Branch (Charity No. 232247). All donations are used to support animal welfare activities in the Furness and Barrow area.

Event booking deposits and fees are processed by third-party payment providers. We are not liable for any issues arising from those providers' systems. Please refer to the relevant provider's terms for payment disputes.

National RSPCA terms

As a local branch of the RSPCA, we operate in accordance with RSPCA national policies and guidelines. For the national RSPCA's own terms of use, privacy policy, and legal notices, please visit:
